Community Security Trust (CST) is the charity that protects British Jews from terrorism and antisemitism.

CST ensures that Jewish people across the UK can lead the lives of their choice. Widely recognised by police and government as a unique model of best practice, CST’s research regularly informs public policy and helps to safeguard wider British society.

• Use of the term “Jewish lobby”
  • This is not an acceptable term to use. “Israeli lobby” should be used when describing the lobbying efforts of Israeli representatives in pursuit of policies that they feel would benefit the state of Israel.
  • “The term Jewish lobby” plays into the false narrative that, simply by being Jewish, there is an associated tendency for gaining manipulative control over levers of power in our society. Historically, this has been a dangerous link to make, and is completely irresponsible to engage in.
  • Even if there is a concerted effort by some Jewish Israeli leaders to associate Israeli geopolitical and lobbying actions with Jewishness, this should not, and does not, give a green light for the phrase “Jewish lobby” to be used. It is in no way accurate to say that all Jews worldwide share the same perspective on Israel, or on the best interests of Jews. It is racist to generalise about Jews in this way.
